I use to use a coffee can to get water out of the ice hole to replace the minnow water. My hand always got wet and cold of course.

The plastic windshield bottles fit nicely in an 8-inch ice hole. I cut a sizable hole in front of the bottle (opposite the handle)near the top. When I push the bottle down into the water, it fills up fast and the bottle handle allows my hand to stay dry and warm. Works great for carrying water to Vexilar/scout other spots as well.
