I know you wont need to buy a license for your portable shelter, inwhich I bought mine last winter mad.gif, but does our personel info still need to be displayed on the outside of the shelter?

That is the info I was talking about, my question is does it still need to be displayed, since it wont be unaccupied, and since you can loan it to a friend, why would it matter who actually owns it? Just who is inside fishing in it, and the number on the outside doesnt indicate that.

I thought you did have to buy a license for your portable shelter in Minnesota. Wisconsin has no license fee and ,unless you leave it, no personal information has to be posted outside.

Minnesota will now be like WI. The portable license fee was dropped, assuming you aren't leaving the portable on teh ice overnight. I could be wrong but I believe your information still needs to be posted on it.....

Quote:

Portable ice fishing shelters that aren't left overnight on lakes no longer require a license, saving owners the annual $11.50 fee. Portable shelter owners have complained for years about paying for the license since they're not staying overnight on lakes. However, permanent shelters, whether with wheels or skids, still need a fish-house or dark-house license if they stay on the lake overnight.

Does anyone know if this only means overnight if left unattended? What if you stay out fishing past midnight?
