Jedi Knight Turtle Skills...

After years of cattin' and never hooking a turtle, I got my first softshell this year. Cute little guy.

Anyway, during the Cat's Incredible tourney, something kept pecking at my dad's bait and I told him if we were on the Minnesota River, I'd put money on it being a turtle. Whatever it was finally pecked enough and dad got a circle hook into a.... snag! Or was it? He pulled and pulled and pulled and the dead weight was coming in until the 2' diameter shell popped up above the water with one very angry snapping turtle hissing at us! Boy, was he PO'd!

This is where I'm sorry to admit that I was too chicken to bring that boy in the boat. At that point, I valued my fingers and hands to much to turn him loose on the boat floor. Wish we would have gotten some pics of it in the water but oh well.

I'll leave the turtle handling to the pros - Dturtle & Softshell Eddie. You guys have the talent man!
