nine-tiner
Planning on riding in the Walker/Akeley area Thursday and Friday this week. How are the trails? Will they be "dustbowls" like the rest of the state? Any other advice? This will be our first trip to the area. Are the trails well marked? Should a person bring a GPS?thanks!! SomethingFishy*
Akeley has some nice trails. Look at the DNR HSOforum under Round River drive/Martineau Trails. I was up there in June it wasn't too dusty but now it's probaly pretty bad. Trails are decently marked but a GPS is always beneficial. There was some new trails opened up to replace a few that they shut down so the maps may not be accurate. When you get ready for as break stop at the Stomping Grounds, it is accesible by trail. Good food, fair prices. Enjoy the trip
