What Bait?

Tomorrow night i have the oppurtunity to tag along with a friend to fish the river. We will be shore fishing around the Belle Plain area. My friend entered into the catfishing contest, but i denied to enter because i feel those tournaments are poorly run and bogus. So what bait has been doing well for you river lovers lately? Bullheads, cut bait, live suckers? I really appreciate all your input because i rarely fish the river (My parents are too protective to let a 16yr old kid fish the river w/o an adult)

my favorite is a ball of worms- this gets me eaters and big ones too.

You will also pick up carp and such.

if you're going for numbers, use chicken livers. If you're going for quality, go with suckers between 8 and 12 inches in length. Make sure you use something that can handle large cats.

There is gonna be a CPR contest this weekend also, put on by Moore's bait and tackle. If you don't want to support that derby or what ever they call it. This is the 4th Moore's contest this year and they are a lot of fun.
