Pat K
I've been trying to find the right prop for a Stratos 386XF with a Yamaha F150. The one that performs the best for me has been a 14 1/2" X 18 four blade Michigan Vortex. The only problem is a loud whistling noise at 1000 to 1200 RPM. Does anyone have an idea what could be making the noise?
Northlander
Sounds to me like you dont have the spacing (thrust)washer in or in properly. Sounds like the prop is too tight. I wouldnt run it until you have it checked.I had a prop that the thrust washer got stuck in and when I put the new prop on without the thrust washer in it it made a sound just like your explaining. Pat K
Thanks for the feedback Northlander, I took it off and put it back on a couple times last night. Paid more attention to the instructions, used a torque wrench, but not sure if I did anything different. I'll take it out Fri. afternoon and hopefully the noise will be gone.Pat K
