i looked at the pics of kylersks construction of his wheelhouse and i had 1 question about framing the walls if you frame the walls with 2x2 and use 2x4 on the corners and you line the 2x2's up so there flush on the outside what do you do about the gap on the inside between your 2x2's and your 2x4 along the bottom so that when you panel the walls you dont have that 2x4 sticking out on the bottom

im referring to the 2x2's used in betweent he 2x4's since there half the size you would have 2 inches of your bottom 2x4's sticking out onto the floor so when you put your paneling on you would see that 2x4 running across the bottom

He used 2x2's as the base plate.

Correct. If you follow the link I posted above to a pic in his gallery you can see on the far wall in the pic that the bottom is constructed of 2x2s. From the ice up, it's tube steel, 1/2" green plywood, 2x4 green (with styrofoam in between), 1/2" green plywood, then 2x2 for the base plate and then the 2x2 upright studs, then 2x2 for the top plate on top the 2x2 upright studs. The rafters are made up of 2x6 that have been cut at an angle.

This is the exact way that I'm making mine. The pics are great for a reference.

The 2x2 base is green treated.

Also, I'm not a construction expert, or novice for that matter, this was my first project. So, everything may not be done correctly, but so far, the house is great.

I had to add that disclaimer. smile.gif
