The ducks need your help. Go to the Ducks Unlimited web page where they have a pre-formatted message to your state members of congress. It is expressing your concerns about the wetland reserve program. It is very simple and fast, everyone please do your part in saving our wetlands.

Surewood, I was just going to post this exact same message. If you want to read more about it Dennis Andersen wrote an article in the Strib about it.

Let's help and do our part to save this program. The Ducks Unlimited HSOforum (ducks.org/farmbill) make is very easy to write to your representative.

On a related note from a state program standpoint...State programs such as the Reinvest in MN (RIM) are going to be competing with a lot of other issues/programs for state bonding money on 08'. It's not too early to begin discussions with your state legislature's and tell them how important it is to put a priority on funding these sort of programs. There are some shorter term (20 yr) RIM contracts that are expiring this year and without any funding, the lands will go back into production. Go to the MN house and senate websites and contact your legislature's.

daydreamer, I read the article from Dennis Anderson, it's good that he is willing to keep people informed. He's right that many people complain but very few do anything about it. Everyone please do your part as like many other people, I want to be able to take my son hunting some day in the future.
