Jigheads?

Does anyone like casting gumball jigheads? We have been killing bass on 1/4oz gumball jigs with grubs and 7.5in worms, Ive caught lots of bass and a couple over 20in fish I was just wondering why I never see pro's or other anglers on fishing shows fishing bass with these types of jigs. Does anyone else target bass this way? id say the only down fall is hooking lots of weeds.

pretty much what you are doing is throwing a jig/worm... and here in the midwest that is a very popular technique. I dont use the gumball jig, but more a ball head/mushroom or a stand up head/shakey worm...

but you bet.. catches bass like crazy! more often than not I throw a straight tail worm on em too.

i always throw a plastic up under docks. ive never tried the gumball under a dock i bet that would work, you might not have a weed problem but now youll have a chance of hooking the dock. always fun to go up to a dock and unhook your line.

MM18- you could rig the plastic texas style on the jig head and it would have a much less chance of getting hooked on the dock... There are a ton of bass in the lakes that arent under docks as well.

yea i like throwing 7.5 powerworms or some kind of ribbon tail . I just couldn't believe with all the bass I catch and see being caught with this technique I always wondered why I didn't see and pro's throwing them in big tournies? Probably cuz its down south, and other techniques provide them more quality fish.
