A Blue and Pink Bluegill-pretty fish

Has anyone ever seen a bluegill like this ? is it a hybrid? It sure was beautiful and it was released.

More likely a strain of evolving or mutated genes specifically in the Blue Gill population in just that body of water. I have seen some similiar Gills with such color.

Slyster the color on your Gill doesn't look even close.

What I do notice on the Gills are that larger ones in certain lakes have more of a blackish blue look to them.

Now that I think of it more. It could directly be related to the mineral or acid content of a body of water that causes the fish to have a different color other than usual natural coloring.

I guess your almost right.. but they both have that unusual pink hue.
