I fished North Dakotas Sakakawea for northerns for two years, we always ALWAYS used tip ups and frozen herring for them... I cant seem to find anywhere here that sells frozen herring (whole)...

Anyone know where it can be found ?????? 12 herring for $1.99 is alot cheaper than creek chubs for $1.00 each....

If you find any herring locally please let the forum know. I would also like to have some in the freezer for this winter. They send out a great scent trail that really draws the pike in. Thanks in advance!!!

Will do... I have checked with local bait shop and all they said was "if the reps dont bring it, we dont sell it"...now THATS service !!!!!

Ok, now that I have vented... I am thinking of asking a buddy of mine to bring some from ND, or maybe ask a grocery store to special order a case or two...

Nobody seems to know where to get them... are herring not a popular ice bait here ???

Fishermans Corner north of Duluth on hwy 53 in Pike lake sells ciscoes. They cost around 10 bucks a half dozen if I remember right. They look like a herring but have a lot more oil and sent.
