Hyfax runners!!??

I hear a lot of you guys mentioning these runners for the bottoms of our sleds. What are they and where do you get them?

Or are there other ideas for the bottoms of Traps, otters, Glaciers etc that work well/better?

With all this activity on this site, I can hardly even concentrate on the big game season which opens THIS weekend here!

I started the other thread stating how I used aluminum strips. Everybody else said they used plastic slides ordered from some site.

You can purchase snomobile hy-fax at Fleet farm. They are extruded UHMW material, so these may be a bit difficult to work with do the the cut outs in them.

I get my UHMW material from a place in Florida that sells excess materials from machine shops. machinist-materials.com is the place. UHMW cuts easily on a table saw, or the people at the HSOforum will probably cut the material to your specs.
