Battery questions

I have 2 Trojan batteries wired in series to power my 80PD trolling motor. I have been getting only about 4 good hours of power before I run out of power. I bought the 2 batteries about 6 months apart and they are the same model. I brought them in to have them checked and was told both were fine. Is there a way to test to see which battery is the problem? I have them hooked to an on board charger and after a full charge the battery indicator on MinnKota reads full charge as well.

Is that 4 hours continuous at high power for trolling or just normal on/off at a medium power setting while casting? If it is the latter, I would say one of the batteries has an issue. I would take them in to a different place for a second opinion. If you are going 4 hours full speed then I would say that is all you can expect out of the batteries.

Another thing you can look at is what size batteries you are using. Be sure to have the 27's. I have 65pd thrust and can get more than a weekend from it if I am just casting docks and weedlines, but if I am trolling spinners on big water it will go down to 6-10 hours of use depending on the wind, and other factors. If you are using an on board charger be sure to check that one of the inline fuses isn't blown. Some models will give you a false full charge when those fuses blow.

I am getting about 4-5 hours trolling spinners on mille lacs at about 1.2 MPH. It sounds like that's about all I can expect if you guys are correct.
