Primer???

I am stripping and painting my Kitchen Cabinets. I am done with the insides and now an working on the outsides. I started priming with latex, and was thinking of going with Latex Semi on the outside when I thought of going to Oil Semi. Do I need to use oil primer as well. I am using Oil Semi because it will hold up better against dings and bumps. But I have latex primer and it should work ok, but is it necessary to use Oil Primer????

you will be fine with oil over latex.
