Ely Bike Trails?

Anyone done any biking near Ely? I'll be staying near Ely for 2 weeks and need to bring the bike along and continue training for a 4 day 300 mile ride later this summer. I've looked at the Mesabi Trail but it looks like that ends near Biwabik.

I went to school in Ely and pretty much lived on my Mt bike. Hidden valley just out of town towards Winton has some nice trails. They're X-country ski trails, but nice none the less. Good mix of hills and terrain and if you can find them, some shorter single track. There are a couple others, but aren't long, and I'm not sure I can give good enough directions for them.

Type in MTBR in google. On that site, there's a trail section. Click MN and search away.

Oops, I think you're looking for road trails. Try 88 around Shag. Hwy. 1 is also okay, and they warn drivers about bikes on the road near ely, but I'm not sure I'd want to bike it.
