TMF89
I need an answer fast. I'm home alone, and I'm going to take my canoe out. I have a Ford Expedition, and I'm thinking of shoving it on top, tying the front to two U shaped tow bars beneath the hood, and taking one rope and tying it to one of the hitch holes (for the safety chains) in the back? How do you guys normally do it?
CNCMike
That's about it, though I always have one tied over the middle of the canoe, through the windows of my truck for added security. I use rubber feet on it as well that prevent it from sliding around and scratching the lid of the truck. They have a neat canoe tie down at Fleet Farm and Gander Mountain for $28 that comes with hooks, rope, rubber feet and directions. Worth every penny.
