Trailer license

Hey, for those one-time licenses for trailers, does anyone know if it matters which side of the trailer tongue the sticker goes on? Where I'd like to put it has a bunch of trailer info that I don't want to cover up. Thanks!

I believe it is on the driver's side of the tongue.

Weird....the MN DMV site only says it needs to be on the tongue. It doesn't mention which side...

I don't know for sure, but I think it is supposed to be on that side because the powers that be can see it from the other lane or when passing in the opposite direction. That's what I've heard anyway.
