Guest
I'm an avid crappie fisherman through the ice. If you see me on the lake most likely I'm hunting those slab crappies. Don't get me wrong, I also fish for other species but crappies are my favorite. So, what do all of you other fisherman aim for? Good Fishin, Matt. Guest
hmmmmm. I target Bullheads in the summer, and dog fish in the winter. Crappies of course. The occasional Walleye, and sometimes, even a sunfish. But mostly, Crappies, mostly. Guest
I tried "Hunting" fish once, and here's the things I found out...1)When you pull the trigger, a crowd gather's around your ice hut....fast.2)A .338 is REALLY loud when shot in a hut.3)Bullets don't fly straight in water.4)If you put the barrel down in the hole, you better be wearing your rain gear.5)If you "Black out" your hut, the muzzle flash is VERY impressive.6)It scares the fish.7)Wear 2 "Depends"...your gonna need them.8)If your Hunt/Fishing" in an "Otter", the pressure will fully open your hut in .0023 of a second, even with the braces installed.9)When the game warden comes, and all you do is yell "HUH? I can't hear you" he gets even madder.10)It takes a very good taxidermist to hide the hole that a 210gr Nosler @ 2960 fps makes.
slick2526
MJ5, well have to def. get together sometime now. I like ice fishing crappies and sunnies come in a close second. After that it would be waldos and then snotters.
Guest
Slick,I'll be ice fishing once there's ice so let me know when you wanna fish. I fish a lot of lakes in the Twin Cities area. Mille Lacs, LOW, and Devils are all visited a few times as well. The twin cities has a some great lakes for crappie fishing, some of which people don't even fish at all. Early ice is the best because there is no fishing pressure and the fish are very active. Most of my biggest crappies of the year come from early ice. Drop me an e-mail and we can plan some outings.
