Evinrude model year question

A couple of years ago I aquired an Evinrude 15hp, due to lack of use I decided to get it ready for a good home but am unsure of the year , If any body can help it would be great, heres the model and ser#

OMC Motors use INTRODUCE as the model year code from the last letters in the model..

So your motor is either a 2004 (from the SR) or 1990 (from the ES). Sometimes OMC motors have an extra letter in the model number at the end of them. Given the looks of the motor you probably can figure out which of these two it is.. I'm betting it's a 1990.

Thanks M.M. that gets me closer although I thought the 1990 models were white or was that just the Johnson's?? the out board I have is the dark blue...

I'm pretty sure the evinrudes were never white.

Here's a picture of the hood from a 1990 Evinrude 35hp.. I would anticipate yours would be similar if it's from 1990...
