boat registration ?

I just puchased a 1993 Warrior from my deceased brother-in-law's wife in Pierre, SD. The boat is registered in SD until 2008. Does anyone know what all needs to ocurr? I had her transfer the title to me and i know i need to get the the trailer registered since it has expired? Anything else - can i take care of all of this at my local DMV? Thanks for the help!

yes you can take it to the DMV they will help you out. Just tell them you gave $50.00 or less so you don't have to pay to much sales tax on trailer only. No tax on boat.

Like Nutty said the DMV will get you everything you need But if you paid anything for it you will be taxed on the actual value, not the stated value have her 'gift' it to you and you won't pay any tax, just transfer fees
