I have never fished in Wisconsin before, but have purchased a license and am thinking about trying Bone Lake out. Just wondering if anyone can tell me anything about this lake? Thanks

Its a good bass lake and has many muskies. The muskies traditionally have been on the smaller side but I have heard that the average size has gotten bigger and there are more trophies in the lake now.

Bone has a good panfish population. Crappies are numerous but are running fairly small. The perch that I have caught are pretty decent sized.

There are few to no walleyes in Bone.

Fish early and late in the day as there are MANY recreational boaters on Bone Lake.

It also might be a good idea to get a map of the lake or talk to some locals...The past couple times I have gone out the water has been a bit low, so it really helps to know where the bars are. We were there last year and churned some sand more than once...You should be able to find one on the WIDNR site in Polk County. There are a few nice largemouths in there too, depending on what you are looking for.
