Baitcasters for Ice Fishing?

Just curious if anyone else out there uses baitcasters for ice fishing. I used one last year for the first time and now I prefer one when jigging for notherns. Easier to let out line but harder to find rods that fit baitcasters. I use a Genz Rod by Berkely which works exceptionally well. Any other baitcaster users out there?

I am going to set up one for my lake trout rod this year.

Mj5- I use one when i jig lake trout. i have tried the standard barrle style and the low profile bass style. i like the low profile style better but with most of those casting reels the spools dont hold much line. make sure you get one with a larger line capacity if you are fishing deep water. the genz rod is ok but certainly to small for laker fishing. you may want to build a custom rod. i prefer to fish with a longer rod for deep water lakers!!

Thanks Bushwac, I'll try and come up with another rod and give it a try. I haven't had the chance to fish lakers through the ice but I hope to try soon.
