Has anyone actually caught trout in Little Long?

yes sir, better winter fishery but plenty get caught in the summer as well. Jonah

I have only caught them in winter, but seen them follow my lure in the summer, usually out in the deep water suspended at some depth. I have heard out from the point that is to the left of landing, thats actually the only place I have seen them, divers report seeing many.

What tactics work best in the winter? I've tried them in the winter, but can never get them to bite.

A small jig tipped with euro or crappie minnow in the winter, basically crappie bait. I really dont fish for trout though so maybe someone else has some better suggestions. A vexilar will help to have as you can spot them and get an idea of what depth they are suspending. I believe there are rainbows and browns in little long.
