blue_healer_guy
I have already fertilized, gonna spray for leftover weeds, dandy's and the like if the wind ever quits. Whats next, like mid summer and fall. On worn areas can I fertilize again soon or wait. I have a spreader and bulk tank with boom for maintenance. Would like to see a thicker grass then we have now. The field does not have an irrigation system. Any help?
Moose
One of the best pieces of advice is to keep the grass as long as possible. Kentucky Blue Grass is genetically designed to be mowed at 31/2- 4". most ball players will wine about the long grass but from a turf management aspect the longer you can keep the grass the better shape it will be in. Come the end of July I would areate and seed and fertilize especially on the worn spots this way the new grass will have a chance to get going before it goes dorment for the winter. Usually the best time for weed control is in the fall after the first light frost. The dandelines wont seed in the fall after spraying like they will in the spring.
