Night Crawlers

Is it permitted to transport night crawlers across the border and if so, is there a limit?

They have to be in bedding and not dirt.

I've brought up over a 1/2 of a flat (in bedding) and had no problem.

I am not sure if there is a limit, but each year we bring 1 flat. This year we have more people on the trip and we are planning on bringing 2 flats.

Every year we use every last one of them.

We're going up to Lost Lake (Hudson, ON) in two weeks. We have never used them in the previous 7 trips and are considering using night crawlers this year. Are they effective this early?
