Simplicity Mower problems.

I bought a simplicity regent back in 2002. I have the 16hp twin cylinder honda engine. A surprise to me this engine has been a headache since buying. at year 2 I had to replace a coil in one of the cylinder. Now I notice last night that it smokes for the first 15 minutes when I start it. Does anyone know why this would be? I thought Honda's were so good being why I upgraded from the kohler when I purchased. I change the oil every years since I don't seem to get more than about 50 hours a year. The manual says every 100 hours. Simplicitys are known for the best cut in the industry and thus why I bought. My grandpa has sworn by them for over 30 years.

Did you get it from Olson's in North Branch??

If not, I'd either call up there and talk to Bruce, or take it in and let them look at it.

no I didn't but now that I live in Wyoming it is the closest to my house. I am thinking it may be the carb. It runs fines when warm. Starts fine but misses a bit at first and a little black smoke. Not bad but for a Honda not to my liking.
