Tman2
I know everybody in MN is gearing up for walleye this weekend, but I'm going to LOTW (Whiefish) next weekend and will be going for some early season Lake trout. In the past, we usually have used heavy weight and frozen ciscos, 'long-lining' it from shore. After jigging for them ice fishing this winter, I want some other options out in the boat. The boats we have won't be equipped with any deep trolling devices. So, just looking for some lure recommendations or other options. (Live bait isn't allowed, hence the frozen cisco.) I've got locations nailed down. Thanks,Tman
Eastwind
Tman2,For a few weeks after ice out trolling crank baits along steep shorelines, reefs or points is a good way to catch Lakers. Black and silver or white cranks are my favorite colors. We get them in water from 10' to 30'.
