CALVINIST
I'll be in Colorado for a family vacation the last two weeks of june, and plan on hitting streams and rivers for some trout. I will be using light spinning gear with 2lb test, throwing spinners, and jigs in the deeper water. We plan on traveling over a wide area in the western half of colorado, Carbondale, durango, Estes Park and RMNP are a few areas we will be visiting. I have never fished in colorado before, so if anyone would offer up some advice, anything at all, including things to avoid, that would much be appreciated. Thanks in advance! wooduck26
I have fished the Roaring Fork Frying Pan and the Colorado..........early June can be a bit tough, depoending on the run-off........The areas around Basalt were pretty decent......
Jim Bob
The runoff should be over towards the end of June. The Roaring Fork should have the Green Drake hatch going on around then. We've fished the river with spinning gear using clear bubbles and Pheasant Tail Nymphs and Gold Ribbed Hares Ears in the evenings. You cast across and fish 2-3 ft. from the opposite shore.
