I am looking at a boat that has a 2004 Evinrude 250 fict direct injection motor. Can you please give me your opinion on this motor? I have only owned Merc motors. I have heard mixed reviews, but it sounds like this year and model is ok. Thank you!!

Go for it. I have a 2002 225 Ficht and it has been fantastic. There were issues with the older OMC Ficht engines, but Bombardier corrected those problems. If I was to buy a new boat, it would have either a 250 ficht or an E-tec on it.
