Eric Wettschreck
Everyone,You are all invited to be part of history in the making. The first annual "Prairie Polebender" on beautiful Lake Shetek, Saturday June 9. We'll all meet at "Trails Edge" at 7:00 am. They open at 6 if you want to come early and get some breakfast. We'll launch from Lake Shetek State Park so you'll need a sticker on your tow vehicle. We can fish until noon or 1-ish, come on in, toss some brats on the weber, tell a few lies about the big one that was ALMOST in the boat, share a few tactics and head back out.If you have never been to that state park you're in for a treat. They have a very nice boat landing with a good break if it's windy and plenty of parking. The picnic area is right next to the boat landing.Getting there is easy. From the city of Currie, take CTY 38 towards the state park. There are large signs on the HWY. It's aboot 1 1/2 miles to Trails Edge.Shetek is an interesting lake and has many species. It's known for it's Walleye, but it also supports a healthy population of Crappie, Perch, Snot Rockets, and Catfish. You only have one opportunity to be part of the "First Time." If you have a boat, great bring it. If you don't haved a boat that shouldn't stop you. We'll figure something out, I have room for 3 in mine. Bring the kids, bring a friend, bring the wife/g-friend/significant other.Looking forward to meeting yous guys and spending a day on the lake with ya!
