SpikeRoberts
I was out this morning and had two holes about 18" apart. Down one hole I had a small tear-drop tipped with a crappie minnow, down the other a nice sized gem-eye. Before dawn, jigging the gem-eye attracted some pretty hard hits by the crappies while the tear-drop sat there. After sunrise things switched around, I would jig the gem-eye for a while and, wham, the bobber over the tear-drop would disappear. If I had not read about "the Judas principle" on this site, I probably would have switched both lines to gem eyes and would have missed out on the after dawn bite Keep those great tips coming folks! SpikeRoberts
bigpike, sorry I can't find the link, but "the judas principle" is a technique described in these pages best by Toad (I think?). The two articles on the home page about "calling them in" describe the technique pretty well. Maybe someone else can post a link to the previous forum thread.
