Guest
Hi all,I need some clarification on whether the fishing season ends on Feb 17 in the area where the Vermillion River flows into the MS river east of Hastings. I am getting conflicting reports. If I read the book correctly last night, anything S. of Prescott is open 12mo (backwater). I am not sure, but it looks like the area I am referencing is N. of Prescott. Looking to do a late season pike excursion. Thanks.
Jim W
Hey there.I believe the Black Bird Tressle is the cut-off spot for open and closed seasons on the Vermillion river. That is located just downstream of Duschanes landing.I hope this doesn't confuse you further?Jim W
Guest
nubbinbuck, From what I understand, anything on the east side of the railroad tracks is considered boundary waters and is open past the 17th. I drive by there everyday on my way home and I've stopped to check the ice the last few days. Not real thick, but passable to the left of the launch and straight out if you stay close to shore. Lots of holes drilled there, so somebody's been fishing. If you go too far out straight, it's very thin, I fell through. E-mail me for more info or updates: [email protected]. Good luck!Mark
