Straight River by Osage

Wondering if anyone has ever fished this river during the middle of may, thinking about making a trip down there. Also, is this river big enough to float a 14' boat down??

I've fished the Straight near Park Rapids in the past and it was wade fishing only. Narrow, shallow, and lots of fallen trees.

its true lots of downed trees, the upper river is wade only, but the lower river cacn be fished out of a canoe and can be very productive im may. Good luck lots of nice to be had for the angler willing to put in the time. Jonah

your best bet would be to fish at night. the evening hatch will bring the browns out of hiding and will actively feed. By midmay there should be some decent caddis and mayfly hatches, however the straight is legendary for the hex hatch which usually occurs during late June/early July depending on the seasonal weather pattern.

thanks guys, i wanted to make sure if I was going to drag my boat up there i would have a chance to use it. But i think i will bring it up. Sounds like it is the Big Sand monster 'eyes during the day and the Straight River browns at night.
