Broken Tail?

Yesterday, I noticed my 1 yr old yellow lab's tail didn't look right. It looks swollen and when I inspected it further it didn't seem to hurt her when I handled it. She won't wag it and doesn't want to sit down. She had been wrestling earlier with two other dogs. So my question is can they break their tails or is it most likely just a pulled muscle?

Has your dog been swimming in cold water in the past couple days? Dogs can get cold water tail syndrome. It goes away in a few days. The dog generally doesn't wag their tail and the tail is very sensitive to the touch. It appears the tail is broken.

Could be broken but if your dog isn't in a lot of pain your dog could have limber tail. Do a google on "limber tail syndrome" and see if the symptoms sounds similar to what your dog is experiencing.

Yep, that's sounds exactly what is going on. And yes, she's has been swimming quite a bit in the pond next to the house. It looked better this morning and she was wagging it a little when I fed her.

Thanks guys!
