in wed poineer press there is story about 160 + acers that is next to c.a. the seller wants the dnr to buy it but anoka county commissioners want it to see homes on it please contact any anoka com. and tell them 160+ acers is more importent to keep than $3000 ayear taxe revenue

I agree with the need to keep the land wild. However the tax revenue on 160 acres of residential land is much greater than $3000. If you put 160 one acre lots in that had a tax payment of $3000/year the total tax revenue is $480,000/year.

Again I agree with the premise of making it part of Carlos Avery. However I just wanted to correct your math on the taxes the property would generate.

I love hunting at carlos avery (along with a million other people)and i would like to see it expanding its wilderness anytime it could.
