Carl I have a Cannon S3IS 12X optical 6MP, and I usually have the lens all the way out which I am told is similar to 400mm? I have been trying all kinds of shots with AV Priority and am learning a few things about it slowly, compared to just shooting in Auto.

Those are some great shots. It wasn't too long ago someone told me on this forum that it wasn't possilbe to get good photos of birds in flight unless you were shooting a DSLR. Evidentally, things have changed. I see that this Canon will actually shoot 2.3 frames per second. Impressive camera and impressive photos. I may have to sell my Sony and get this one someday.

Thanks much for posting.
