Fishing Big Lake by Ely

Does anybody have any reliable info about Big Lake in St Louis county? I am from Chicago IL and I am looking to book for an early spring excursion, you know, knock the rust off and get my fish on. I have been on the White Iron chain a couple of times and thought maybe sometjhing different this time. thanks

Post this on the Ely forum there has been a lot of talk about this lake on the forum in the past. Good luck. What kind of luck did you have on the white iron chain?

Every time I have been there I have been in the early spring. I have consitantly caught some of my biggwest Wallies there. I have hooked up with some really nice Northern and the smallies were abundant. My best smallie was a easy 3 pounder.
