Guest
How do you pros go about finding and catching ciscoes on 100-200 acre lakes with max depths of 80 ft, and average depths of 40-50 ft. Do you look for points, saddles, or reefs? Just drill and look with the Vex? Any favorite baits? Thanks.
Havin' Fun
It's pretty simple. Go to the 80 foot hole, cut and look. They usually occupy the deepest section of water in the lake. I love a tear drop jig, color is your choice, but white or pink are good for me. Use some system of a flasher too. small silver spoons with a 1 foot leader of mono with a small jig tipped with wax worms. That should do it.If you locate large schools fo these fish just a tiny jig with a waxie will get em. They are attracted to the flasher just like a trout though. Havin' Fun
I fillet them leaving the skin on them, and removing rib bones, and then you soak them in a brine( salt, brown sugar, water) for 24 hours and then you smoke em'. Best stuff you ever had!!!!
