Two transducers / depth finders problems?

Harp

Question

I see dual finders on boats but???I currently have a Uniden in dash digital depth readout just to the lower unit out of trouble and I will be installing a Hummingbird Parina 15 fish finder and I only have enough transducer cable to put them close or next to each other.I looked at their frequecency and it is the same I think? Hummingbird on single beam MHZ 200 with 83 MHZ dual Uniden is 200 MHZ is that the number to be concerned about? so if I put an off/on toggle to the Uniden to shut it down when I run the Hummingbird will that work? or am I looking for problems? I don't want to butcher up the boat then have to move stuff around after the fact.

Hi,

There will be no doubt that if you put two transducers close together that carry the same freqency you will get interference. if it is easy enough to put a switch on your uniden, I would suggest that.
