Always wondering about how much ice is made when temps are at ice making temps.

Way to many variables to have a finite answer. ie. currents, springs, vegitation. Ask locals or baitshops about specific lakes if you aren't sure about ice conditions.

ok let me rephrase this: when it is the right conditions how much ice is made either in a hour or a night. just a rough estimate not a exact amount.

Under the best conditions, I've seen about an inch a day. The lake I've been fishing so far this ice season, went from being completely wide open, to freezing over and having 11.5 inches of ice 12 days later. Each lake is different. A lake nearby the pervious one I mentioned, froze over the same day, has had the same weather / temp conditions, and yet it only has 6 inches 12 days later...

Lake of the Woods, near long point, had 11 on Friday and about 14 on Sunday. Roughly. Different spots but, pretty close.
