Silver Lining?

I've got another question for the bright folks on this board.
Is there a possible silver lining in this weather shortened ice fishing season? That is, can the reduced harvest caused by a month's worth of no ice and no fishing have possible future payoffs of more and bigger fish or will difference in the harvest not be significant enough to make any difference?

I don't think the majority of icefisherman consistently do well, so I don't think that the fish population benefits signifinicantly.
