Chasing Lakers

A Buddy and I are heading up to Burntside to fish most of Tuesday and Wednesday to attempt to catch Lakers through the ice. This will be our first attempt at ice fishing them, so if any one would be willing to divulge any tactics, depths, lures that would be useful in catching a few.

go to the BWCA/Duluth forum - there is a "sticky" topic on inland lake trout fishing right at the top that goes on for about 5 pages with lots of good info. good luck.

Thanks to everyone who directly or indirectly offered help, gave help, or posted info. it is all very much appreciated. I didn't connect with my first laker, but I had a blast. We managed one, a 26", and missed few during a full day of fishing, but we did get enough of a taste of laker fishing to have the itch to go again.
