Guest
I am also looking at heaters in the 15-20 BTU range for my 15x7 sleeper but I am a little worried about sleeping with vent free model. If they were as safe as talked up to be MN and WI would not be trying to ban them for use in Trailer homes. BUT, the vented models are $500 or more (a little pricey for the shack). Any thoughts or solutions would be greatly appreciated.
WarrenA
I would buy the best vented heater i could get my hands on. Your safety has to be worth something. Not having to worry about getting gassed is a real asset, you will relax more.
MnIceman
I agree on the vented heaters, especially in a sleeper! I prefer vented heaters in my shacks except for the small portables. Safety is #1! Even with vented heaters there should be air coming in that at the least equals the vent. I also don't care for the moisture build up from the non-vented models. kwkfsh
A vented heater is definatly the way to go. I believe you can get the 20,000 btu propane heaters for use with a stove pipe for about $120.00 at Cabelas. Whichever way you go you should still have a CO detector in the house. Nothing puts a crimp in your day like waking up dead.
