The folks that make the polar sport ice houses had made some sit-on-top kayaks that were about 8 foot long. short enough not to need a license, simple molded hull. swamptiger Posted January 27, 2007 Share Posted January 27, 2007 If you have some basic tools and a place to work, there is a set of plans available for a plywood/epoxy kid's kayak available online. It's called the Kidyak. Just Google to find it. My son & I built one about 10-12 years ago, and he had a blast with it for several years until he outgrew it.
