Lost
What would you suggest as far as a hook goes for catfish? I'm thinking about trying some circle hooks that I found but I've got a number of offset larger hooks (3/0, 4/0, etc) that I could use also. icehousebob
For cut-bait, I've pretty much changed over to circle hooks. It took two of my boys making me look like a fool to get me to first try them. For big swimming baits, I have some big off-set bass worm hooks.

Ed Carlson
Try 6-8 O/T Gamakatsu straight shank circle hooks once. The points hold up well and they function as well barbless as they do with a barb. Tough hooks, not likely to rust either as they are high carbon steel with a high polished finish. They are my Go-To hooks for active cats. I do not see a need for barbs on circle hooks. If the cats are "Peckers", well then a 4-7 O/T Kahle, or a 6-7 O/T Gamakatsu G-Mag is often the best bet. Mostly because you need to set the hook quicker to catch those pesky peckers before they move off. ------------------Ed "Backwater Eddy" CarlsonBackwater Guiding"ED on the RED"[email protected]701-640-2796><,sUMo,>
