Clouser
I am looking for cheap source of lead for making slinkys. I have the parachute cord ready but do not want to spend a lot on lead sinkers to fill them. Chilled shot seems perfect but a 25 pound bag is too much. Any suggestions? Fisher Dave
A 25# bag of shot was about $16 last fall when I last stocked up... Thats a heck of a lot of sinkers. At 1/2 oz that makes 32/1 pound... I guess you could fill them with gravel if you need cheaper than that.
Perch Jerker
Just grab some of your old lead shotgun shells and bust them open if you plan on making up a couple of them (5 shells should make 10 1/2oz sinkers). If you plan on making a lot of them, find someone who reloads shells and buy 1# from them. That should hold you for a while.PJ
psegriz
Go to an old tire shop they have lots of old/broken tire wwieghts laying around. That's where I get mine for making spearing decoys. BTW what the heck is a slinky other than a kids toy going down the stairs?------------------GRIZ
