Which video camera?

The people here seem to know alot about cameras. More than me anyhow.

I am looking at video cameras for my atv, hunting adventures, and for home use. I am looking at Sony and Cannon. Which one would be a decent one for my use. May even be thinking of a helmet cam to mount in a stand or on my atv. I need something rugged and not too expensive in case I wreck it.

Any suggestions?

Lets see, I have 3 camcorders. Have on old Sony 8mm, a canon

ZR70MC DV camcorder, and a JVC GR-D370U. The Canon worked out great for years up until november 95. Had to send it back to get fixed for free. Bad batch of CCD`s. Then this last summer while on vacation it went out again, this time a chip that controls the CCD. Bought the JVC from Target while on vacation so I could continue to record our vacation.

So far the JVC works out great and was cheap enough for the

budget minded DV camcorders. Was only $299.98 at that time.

I am sure it has gone down since then.
