where can i go catch some cats around minneapolis in the mississippi. and what should i use. any tips would be great. thanks

There's tons of spots right around town here. The Boom Island area can be a very good spot at times for a little of everything. You can't go wrong with soaking a crawler on bottom. But then there's the Minnihaha creek area under the Ford dam area. For the MN River there's the whole BlackDog Rd and Fort Snelling park area.

I would say almost anywhere on the mississippi. I fish the stretch around the 694 bridge, and do quite well but i know they are everywhere. I like to use dipbaits, but chicken liver, crawlers, leeches (leeches seem to get me lareger than average cats), and other cat baits work well. I personally like to fish on the downstream side of islands but lots of other spots work good too. Anywhere the currant slows is good so there are lots of options.
