A Thorne Bros gift certificate which has already been applied to a custom stick from them. Went with an 8'6" Avid blank, a.k.a. the "Dawg Rod". Looking forward to trying the longer stick. Used an 8' this year and loved it, so going a little longer still.

Also got an AHL Giant Lac Suel topwater in the baby loon paint job. Almost too pretty to throw, looks good sitting in the office hutch on the shelf! Anyone have any experience with the AHL baits? I have not thrown a topwater of that size, curious if others have, it's a good 10+ inches of wood.

Hope all had a good Holiday, I did considering I was expecting a lump of coal!

I got a Giant Klunker, 2 Lac Seul Turrbos, and a Giant Lac Seul. These are my first baits from AHL and I haven't heard anything negative about them. They seem to be built like tanks and have fantastic paint jobs. I cant wait to throw the Lac Seul Giant, that thing is one cool looking beast.

AHL are great lures... You'll love the 8'6" avid for casting dawgs, I used one all year this year.. I am having a 8'10" built this year...
