Best way to Shorefish/Boatfish?

I personally think that a slip weight rig is the best way to catch catfish from shore, but what do you guys think? From a boat, how about bait under a float set at a specific depth? Always had better luck with the slip weight, or a Carolina rig, but the big poles are set up for slip floats.

Weather in a boat or shore the most common and reliable way is slip rigging for me. No guessing the depths and fighting the current. Plus you can add floaters to your biat if you want to get it up in the face of the suspended fish.

We are working on a bigger floater jig and heavy hook for catting and big walleyes so no more straightening out the hooks. "Todays Tackle" If it goes well we will be testing these soon.... I will let you all know what happens..
